We are owned by the Borough of Slatington, however we are governed by our own Chief and Line Officers.

The Slatington Volunteer Fire Department, as it is today was formed by the merger of the three former fire departments in the Borough of Slatington. This merger occured in 1984 when then Fire Chief Gary Phillps and many other members merged the former Hose Company #1, Vigilant Fire Company #2, and the Springside Fire Company #3 into what is known today as the Slatington Volunteer Fire Department.

The current "Operational Outline" consists of:
2401 Chief
2402 Asst. Chief
2403 Asst. Chief
2404 Fire Marshall
2405 Captain
2406 Captain
2407 Lieutenant
2408 Lieutenant/Safety Officer
2409 Fire Police Captain

We average 110 responses per year, consisting of fire suppression and rescue services to primarily the Borough of Slatington,as well as mutual aid to the surrouding municipalities in the Northern Lehigh Area. Our department consists of approximatley 20 - 30 active volunteers, with an average response on 8 - 15 members per alarm. Our appratus currently consists of 2 engines, 1 rescue, 1 Brush Unit,  and 1 fire police unit. We are anticipating delivery of our new Quint in December 2004.
